3. Wilderness encounters

The park allows you to see and come into contact with diverse fauna in the territory during the different seasons of the year. In the winter, the silence, the reduced human activity and the climate force several species to descend from higher altitudes in search of food, offering an excellent opportunity for lucky encounters with local fauna, such as the huemuls, woodpeckers, foxes, pumas and guanacos that tend to visit the area.

Meanwhile, in the spring you can see pumas, as the park has a population of about 50 individuals, one of the highest concentrations in the world. The biggest likelihood of coming across one is between October and November.
