We take the van to the southern sector of the Lake of the Desert to begin hiking through a rainforest, where we will begin our ascent to Laguna Huemul, at the foot of the Glacier. We will pass through some clearings along the way where we will see the waterfalls that come down from the glaciers. We return along the same trail, with a panoramic view of the Laguna Huemul, Mount Fitz Roy and the Las Vueltas River valley.
We leave by van northward toward the Laguna del Desierto Provincial Reserve, passing beautiful waterfalls that are formed thanks to the Las Vueltas River Valley's geography. We will cross the nothofagus rainforest until we reach the Lake of the Desert lookout point, which offers a great panoramic view of the lake, the mountains that surround it and their glaciers.
We walk along a low difficulty path through the forest of the least known areas of El Chaltén. On the way back, we see the valley surrounded by woody mountains.
