Sacred Valley
Explora in the Sacred Valley of the Incas was designed as a headquarters from where to explore a remote and great destination: Cusco, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Our lodge is within walking distance of the traditional village of Urquillos, a tiny settlement in which countless traditions are kept alive year-round by a lively and proud local community. It took us several years to finalize our exploration routes in the Sacred Valley, as we are committed to providing our travelers with the less traveled but most rewarding experiences, away from the madding crowd of traditional tourism without missing any of the destination’s most rewarding landscapes and cultural hubs alike.

WHY EXPLORA
Located between Cusco and Machu Picchu, Explora in Sacred Valley of the Incas offers an in-depth exploration experience from a base Lodge immersed in the history of the Incas.
In order to honour the natural and cultural richness which the Sacred Valley encompasses, our explorations in the area have been designed following the way in which the Incas themselves inhabited the valley itself as well as the mountains that frame it: from the ever-winding Urubamba River to the highest peak in the Peruvian Andes.
This is a territory so unique, fertile and abundant, that it cradled and nourished one of humanity’s most advanced civilizations. Any experience seeking to remain true to the territory’s essence, is therefore a mix of nature and culture, following the logic and dedication with which the Incas populated the valley and surrounding mountains.
We believe luxury is about having all the means necessary to make the most out of the experience, such as a cozy, welcoming environment, and authentically local gastronomic experiences. Tucked away in one of the valley’s many haciendas, our lodge overlooks an ancient corn plantation which provides work and food for the nearby village of Urquillos and is immersed, therefore, in the slow-paced life of its inhabitants.
The territories we explore and protect haven’t been chosen at random. Instead, they each respond to a conscientious dialogue between nature and culture, collectively articulating a transcontinental constellation of natural and cultural landscapes in urgent need of safeguarding.
Present in the most precious locations of remote South America, we connect them all in an ever-exchanging network, so you can explore and discover in even greater depth.
With lodges in multiple positions across the continent, explorers can feel free to combine more than one destination in a single journey and craft a truly original and broad exploration experience.
